DeSales University, in Center Valley, PA, is a private, coeducational, four-year liberal arts Salesian, Catholic university. Founded in 1965, the 550-acre suburban campus is located 50 miles north of Philadelphia and about 90 miles southwest of New York City. A total enrollment of nearly 3,500 includes undergraduate day and evening students, and graduate students. DeSales has approximately 135 full-time faculty members and offers more than 40 bachelor's degrees, twelve graduate programs, and over 20 certificate programs in a wide range of disciplines;
many of these can be completed fully online. In 2024, the University transitioned to a new academic structure featuring a four-college/school model.
The Administrative Assistant for Student Life provides administrative services to Vice President of Student Life and staff as related to work within student affairs; schedules and manages multiple internal and external projects/meetings for Vice President and other members of the student affairs staff; maintains accurate files/data on all traditional day students; coordinates and manages student mailbox assignments; assist with planning, vendor coordination, volunteers and related duties for Baccalaureate and Commencement exercises and other major student life events;
processes invoices for Vice President and Student Life department heads, maintains supplies for the department; organizes two student affairs staff retreats per year; compiles and edits Student Life annual report and other campus-wide reporting projects; supervises one summer employee; performs miscellaneous office duties as needed.
- High School Diploma required
- One year administrative experience preferred. Other work experience will be considered
- Strong organizational and communication skills required
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite of products, particularly Word, PowerPoint, Teams and One Drive
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Must possess very strong and professional verbal and written communication skills
- Strict Adherence to confidentiality required
- Candidate must be reliable and adaptable
