Administrative Officer 1
This is a professional administrative position reporting directly to the Children and Youth Administrator. This position is responsible for assisting the Administrator with daily functions of the agency while working independently. In this Administrative Officer 1 position, you will manage a wide range of administrative duties that keep our agency's daily operations effective. This role gives you opportunities to build experience in planning, coordination, and communication while providing essential support for staff, agency leadership, and the community.
Your duties will include the following:
- Agency Communication:
Serve as a central point of contact for employees to help address operational issues and learn about opportunities, programs, and events; establish excellent relationships with community partners and outside agencies; and attend agency, provider, and public meetings to gather information and share input when assigned - Operational Assistance:
Help the agency Administrator review, update, develop, and implement agency procedures, policies, and plans - Records Management:
Maintain logs, documentation, and compliance materials for audits, reporting, and budget development needs - Program Coordination:
Provide administrative support and collaborate with management and staff to ensure public and agency needs are addressed by key programs including Limited English Proficiency, Continuity of Operations Plan, and the Safety Committee - Advisory Board Liaison:
Help prepare agendas for Children and Youth Advisory Board meetings, maintain meeting and Board member records, and provide administrative support for Board activities and policies
Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration.
- Knowledge of the principles of governmental accounting, statistics, and public personnel administration.
- Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts and devise solutions to administrative problems.
- Ability to comprehend program goals, objectives, and operations, and to relate these to administrative analysis.
- Ability to develop, install, and evaluate administrative policies and procedures.
- Ability to apply and interpret Departmental policies and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other administrative officials and the public.
- Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.

- Six months of experience as a Clerk Typist 3
- Six months of experience as a Clerk 3
- Two Years of experience in varied office management or staff work; and a bachelors degree
