Exam Proctoring Assistant
Join the dynamic and hard-working team in Learning Support Services’ (LSS) Test Centers. The Exam Proctoring Assistant will support students taking exams outside of class due to disability-related reasons or to make up an exam because of a university-approved absence. Responsibilities include scheduling, coordinating, and organizing exams, and communicating with students, faculty, and staff. This role provides a team experience in interpersonal, technical, and organizational skills.
JobFunctions
- Scheduling, printing, scanning, administering, monitoring, and proctoring exams
- Demonstrate an understanding of testing requirements, perform quality and security checks of all exams prior to examination time, and oversee a secure exam environment and return of exams.
- Will be expected to work during midterms and finals.
- Utilize our secure data management system to schedule exams.
- Compile and maintain confidential files of disability information and delivered and completed tests.
- Email, phone, and in person communication with students and faculty about scheduling and delivering exams, and troubleshooting technology concerns and managing student, faculty, or staff questions.
- Assist in providing testing accommodations such as reading, scribing, and assistive technology when needed.
- Provide full coverage when the Exam Proctoring Coordinator is not in the office.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills, attention to detail, and priority-based decision making.
- Ability and willingness to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Strong computer skills and willingness to learn new software and technology
- Comfortable with printers, copiers, and scanners.
- Customer service experience
- Efficient problem-solving skills and ability to work with people in high-stress situations.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple interruptions.
- Must be enrolled in a Villanova University graduate program.
- Hourly position with $1000 scholarship for each completed semester of work. To receive the scholarship, must work a minimum of 15 hours/week through final exams.
- Wage Rate: $15/hour.
- Student Hours/week: 15-20
