The Impact Center for Community Development & Inclusion implements programs and activities that address issues of diversity, power, and privilege with a goal of improving the campus climate and enhancing community life at Bryn Mawr College. The Program Assistant will provide administrative and data support to the Impact Center, using project management, communication, and organizational skills. The role includes a portion dedicated to International Student and Scholar Services Advising.
The assistant must be comfortable with computers, detail‑oriented, and excel at both verbal and written communication.
- Provide information about Impact Center programs to faculty, staff, students, and guests through phone, email, and walk‑in visitors.
- Manage calls, emails, and inquiries and schedule appointments for Impact Center staff.
- Maintain all Impact Center budgetary records and provide regular budget reports to administrators.
- Process payments, invoices, reimbursements, honorariums, and student organization reimbursements.
- Keep public areas tidy, oversee daily functions of department space, and liaise with Facilities and Housekeeping on maintenance.
- Order supplies for the department and all Impact Center‑affiliated programs.
- Coordinate hiring of student office staff and student coordinators.
- Track and manage biweekly payroll for Impact Center‑hired student workers.
- Provide oversight to the Student Social Media Coordinator.
- Maintain and update websites and social media accounts for the Impact Center.
- Co‑administer email list‑servs for assigned groups and department areas.
- Provide event support for major programs and services offered by the Impact Center.
- Support selection processes for the Impact Center Fellowship, the Dr. Hayley S. Thomas Prize, Community Diversity Assistants, Student Coordinators, and other activities.
- Support affinity groups with budget planning and tracking.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including some evening and weekend responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree or two years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti‑racism.
- Basic understanding of systemic inequities, diverse identities, and how to create inclusive environments.
- Ability to work and act independently.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and flex priorities as demands change.
- Ability to support multiple team members and coordinate with student staff.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience maintaining budgetary records, creating reports, and financial recordkeeping.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, databases, web content management systems, Zoom, online ordering, record‑keeping software, and Workday.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships inside and outside the College.
- Excellent writing, speaking, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Ability to understand and follow regulations and compliance requirements.
- Successful completion of satisfactory background checks.
- Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Full‑time, 35 hours per week, year‑round (1,820 hours annually). Competitive salaries and benefits, including a 10% retirement contribution.
