Lab Manager - Morgantown, PA

Essential Functions

• Partner with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality control to develop new analytical techniques.
• Develop and refine methods for the routine analysis of raw materials and finished products.
• Assume responsibility for the calibration, operation, and maintenance of all laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Develop and maintain a library of certified reference materials when such materials exist; develop a library of secondary reference materials when certified reference materials do not exist.
• Implement Management of Change (MOC) and Manufacturing Process Experiments (MPE).
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the lab staff to ensure assignments are completed in a timely manner; communicate and enforce various policies, procedures, and requirements.
• Partner with the supplier base to develop continual improvement/cost reduction opportunities; develop and maintain various processes related to cost reduction, product development, and continuous improvement.

• A BA or BS degree (preferably in Chemistry, Physical Science, or Engineering) from a college or university; combination of education and experience preferred.
• Previous work experience in Special Metals.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in analytical spectrochemical methods for metals.
• Understanding and knowledge of analytical chemistry and quality systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications.

Relocation is authorized for this position.
