The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of Lab View software controls. This position is in a 24‑7 manufacturing environment and the person must be able to work independently and as part of a team to keep operations running.
Responsibilities- Ensure all equipment adheres to safety standards (OSHA, NEC) and implement robust electrical safety protocols for high‑voltage applications to protect personnel and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment and work to eliminate unsafe conditions.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of existing equipment spanning low‑voltage DC circuits, HMI, sensor interfaces, and computer systems to AC line voltage and high‑voltage three‑phase power supplies.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
- Maintain current software for equipment control and automation.
- Display proficiency in Python and C++ and experience with National Instruments‑based hardware systems (DAQmx, cRIO, cDAQ, or PXI).
- Develop PLC programs and HMI interfaces to ensure intuitive and efficient operation of automated processes.
- Develop software/firmware for microcontrollers and computer interfaces to manage process parameters, data logging, and safety interlocks.
- Utilize AI techniques to enhance systems and controls, reduce downtime, and analyze PM data trends.
- Apply knowledge of vacuum technology systems, pumps, gauges, mass flow controllers, and thin‑film deposition principles (PVD/CVD) to maintain and improve equipment functionality.
- Design and build new electrical systems for bespoke manufacturing equipment, creating detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure smooth 24/7 operations and provide timely support.
- Document all maintenance activities, creating detailed reports and records.
- Train and mentor junior engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in electrical engineering.
- Work closely with the R&D team to implement new technologies and improvements.
- Ensure health and safety standards are met during maintenance activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a maintenance engineer in a high‑tech manufacturing environment, preferably with vacuum or semiconductor equipment.
- Strong proficiency in troubleshooting, reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Experience with low‑power logic circuits, sensor technology, and high‑power three‑phase power supplies.
- Basic knowledge of Lab View software controls and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
- Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage time efficiently, and handle extended work hours as required.
- Proactive and safety‑conscious mindset to ensure a secure working environment.
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and industry practices.
- Hands‑on mechanical skills for repairing and replacing hardware.
- Organized approach capable of handling multiple concurrent projects.
- Proficiency in basic programming languages and manufacturing system integration (e.g., Python, Oracle, Lab View).
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as Ether Net/IP, Modbus, RS‑232/485 for device integration and networking.
- Experience with AI for predictive maintenance and data analysis.
