About Dr. Automotive

Dr. Automotive is seeking an experienced A-Level Automotive Technician in Grantville, PA, with strong diagnostic and general repair capabilities. This position pays $40-$55 per flagged hour with production incentives and a 40-hour guarantee for the first two weeks. The shop offers a Monday-Friday schedule with no weekends, a heated and air-conditioned facility, ongoing technical training, and certification incentives. Technicians work across domestic, Asian, European, and fleet vehicles in a 9-bay, 9-lift independent repair shop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform intermediate to advanced automotive diagnostics, including electrical and CAN bus communication diagnostics.
  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle systems across a wide range of makes and models.
  • Complete engine replacements, timing chain repairs, component R&R, maintenance, and other general automotive repairs.
  • Perform vehicle inspections and document findings using Tekmetric digital vehicle inspections.
  • Build accurate repair estimates based on inspection and diagnostic findings.
  • Use Launch, Snap-on, and Autel scan tools to troubleshoot vehicle concerns.
  • Complete assigned work efficiently while maintaining repair quality and a low comeback rate.
  • Consistently work toward a production expectation of at least 50 flagged hours per week.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of automotive repair experience required
  • Independent repair shop experience.
  • Intermediate to advanced automotive diagnostic skills.
  • Experience diagnosing electrical and CAN bus communication issues.
  • Ability to perform engine replacements, timing chain work, maintenance, and general mechanical repairs.
  • Pennsylvania state inspection license required.
  • Must have personal tools appropriate for the work performed.

Compensation & Benefits

  • A-Level Technician flat-rate pay: $40-$55 per flagged hour.
  • Stated A-Level earning potential: $100,000-$150,000 annually based on production; actual earnings vary and are not guaranteed.
  • 40-hour guarantee for the first two weeks.
  • Production incentive: additional $2.00 per hour after 50 flagged hours per week and additional $5.00 per hour after 60 flagged hours per week.
  • Sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 for qualifying A-Level Technicians, based on the shop's stated start-date and retention terms.
  • Toolbox relocation costs reimbursed after 90 days.
  • Medical insurance with 75% of the premium covered by the shop, including family coverage.
  • 40 hours of PTO after 90 days and 80 hours after one year.
  • Six major paid holidays after 90 days.
  • Shirts provided.
  • Tech Fix training.
  • $0.50-per-hour increase for each ASE certification passed.
  • $1.00-per-hour increase for each L1 or L2 certification passed.
