The Sustainability Analyst supports the organization’s sustainability and ESG reporting initiatives, working closely with the VP of Environmental and Sustainability (E&S). This role is responsible for data management, reporting cycles, stakeholder engagement, management of third-party vendors, and supporting compliance with global sustainability frameworks.
What You Will Be Doing- Respond to ad hoc information requests from internal and external stakeholders (e.g., customers, investors, audit firms)
- Support day-to-day information requests and issue resolution
- Prepare and send weekly workload status updates to leadership
- Maintain relevant current and historical data across the company (e.g., statistics, company data, labor and human rights, governance) for use in audits and reporting
- Assist with monthly and quarterly progress updates with partners (e.g., Green Diamond)
- Coordinate regular (e.g., monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual) data loading for verification, collaborating with the E&S Paralegal/Admin and other teams
- Prepare and complete all ESG reporting materials, surveys, and questionnaires (GRI, SASB, ACC Responsible Care Metrics, MSCI, ISS ESG, Sustainalytics, UNGC, S&P Global CSA, CDP, Eco Vadis, etc.) and ensure timely submissions to rating agencies and regulatory bodies
- Participate in ESG team meetings and reporting strategy sessions
- Draft and support the issuance of the annual Corporate Sustainability Report and related documentation
- Manage relationships and performance of third-party vendors (e.g., third-party verification auditors, partners) supporting sustainability and ESG initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, business, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in sustainability, ESG, or data analysis (internships or project work may count)
- Familiarity with ESG frameworks and reporting standards
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with external partners
- Experience managing third-party vendors is preferred
- Travel: up to 25% (April of each year for verification audits); and more typically up to 5-10% may be required for conferences, meetings, site visits, and stakeholder engagement activities.
