Part Time Entrepreneur in Residence

Position Summary

The Entrepreneur‑or‑Executive‑in‑Residence (EIR) serves as a part‑time supplemental resource supporting Ben Franklin Technology Partners' business services team. The EIR provides financial, investment, marketing, sales, and business support services to staff and clients and mentors selected portfolio companies.

• Provide financial, investment, marketing, sales and business support services and guidance to Ben Franklin/CNP staff and clients.
• Offer ongoing mentoring and management assistance to selected portfolio companies.
• Participate in the 10‑week Ben Franklin Tech Celerator boot‑camp, helping entrepreneurs develop customer understanding, business model, and investor presentations.
• Maintain active interaction and outreach within business, investment/finance, higher‑education and technology sectors.
• Assist in programs and activities of the Transformation Business Services Program—assessing management teams, operational and growth issues, sales and marketing strategy, corporate strategy, cash management, financial planning, and coordinating support services.
• Review business strategies and actively participate in planning sessions to define measurable objectives, monitor client progress and develop corrective strategies.

• Master’s degree or higher, plus five years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Preferred experience in a technology‑based private‑sector company.
• Enthusiasm for opportunities and potential in Central and Northern Pennsylvania and a willingness to embrace educated risk‑taking.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently and in a team‑oriented environment.
• Frequent daily car travel to company locations; occasional overnight travel to other Ben Franklin/CNP offices or client companies may be required.
• Expect a flexible part‑time commitment averaging 20 hours per week.

The position is part‑time; travel includes daily car travel to company locations and occasional overnight trips. Background checks will be required in accordance with university policies.
