Purchasing Lead
The Purchasing Lead role is a front‑line leader responsible for direct materials or indirect goods and services purchasing and supply‑chain management activities. The position supports global procurement and supply‑chain functions, driving operational effectiveness and continuous improvement across the organization.
Responsibilities- Lead local or business supply‑chain management activities that drive operational effectiveness.
- Provide People‑First leadership by engaging, connecting and developing a high‑performance purchasing team.
- Manage purchasing policies, procedures and programs to enhance organisational value and efficiency.
- Maintain cadence with departments regarding procurement activities.
- Lead execution of purchasing operations; drive modernization and digitisation of purchasing processes.
- Lead supplier performance management activities.
- Lead supplier risk mitigation activities.
- Govern supply‑chain/purchasing master data to ensure accurate data management practices.
- Establish, measure and report key functional performance metrics.
- Participate in supply‑chain optimisation initiatives to improve material flow, capture value and reduce waste.
- Develop predictive and advanced analytics methods to assess, manage and mitigate material‑flow disruption issues and optimise supply‑chain operations.
- Assist in defining new supply‑chain technology requirements and drive implementation in partnership with Digital Technology.
- Build open and trusting relationships with team members through frequent meaningful conversations, ensuring individual plans are in place.
- Mentor and train purchasing organization team members.
- Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) or more years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing or a related field.
- Effective communication skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- Relevant industry‑related certifications.
- Purchasing experience within the manufacturing industry.
- Experience mentoring and leading team members through direct reporting or project work.
- Strong organisational, time‑management and prioritisation skills; ability to multi‑task and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with web‑based software applications, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
The role is office‑based with standard environmental conditions. Duties are largely sedentary, requiring extended periods of sitting, computer use and telephone communication. Occasional movement within the office may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
PayPay range: $92,600.00 – $, determined by scope of responsibility, candidate experience, education and skills.
