Job Description Summary
The primary function of this position is to manage the grant and contract portfolio for Clinical Studies at New Bolton Center (CSNBC). Working under the supervision of the Department Business Manager, this role is responsible for the full lifecycle of sponsored programs, including both pre-award and post-award activities, as well as oversight of complex program operations. This position requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring compliance with institutional and sponsor requirements.
Job Description
This position is based at our New Bolton Center campus in Kennett Square, PA (Chester County), approximately 33 miles outside of Philadelphia. There is no public transportation available to this location. You must have your own reliable transportation.
Specific grants management responsibilities include proposal development in PennERA, processing agreements through the Research Inventory System, and preparing ad hoc, sponsor-driven reports. The individual will independently manage post-award activities, including account setup, monitoring transaction accuracy and compliance, budget oversight, processing sponsor amendments, submitting progress reports, and completing sponsored program closeouts.
Job Responsibilities
+ Assist in oversight of complex clinical and laboratory programs, including invoicing and receivable tracking.
+ Pre-award grant management, including proposal and agreement processing.
+ Post-award grant management, including budget and compliance oversight.
+ Support the business manager in payroll changes, procedures, and oversight, etc.
+ Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required; experience with Business Objects and Oracle is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) is required, and familiarity with university accounting and grant management systems is a plus. Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Grants Manager B
Bachelor of Science and 5 to 7 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. The Grants Manager B operates with a higher degree of independence and is expected to possess more advanced grants management experience than the Grants Manager
A. This includes making greater contributions to the team, particularly in financial analysis and strategic program support.
