Pre Award Specialist

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Pre Award Specialist to support grant development across our regional healthcare system. In this role, you will identify funding opportunities, coordinate proposal timelines, and guide clinicians and researchers through sponsor guidelines and internal policies. Responsibilities include preparing budgets, ensuring regulatory and compliance documentation, routing proposals for approvals, and maintaining accurate grant records. You will collaborate with clinical, research, and finance teams to submit high-quality, timely applications that advance patient care, community health, and innovation at LVHN.

Responsibilities

• Identify and track relevant grant and funding opportunities for clinicians and researchers.
• Coordinate proposal development timelines and deliverables across multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare and review grant budgets, justifications, and cost estimates in line with sponsor and LVHN policies.
• Ensure compliance with sponsor guidelines, institutional policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Route proposals for internal approvals and manage electronic submission systems.
• Maintain accurate proposal and award records, documentation, and status reports.
• Collaborate with finance, legal, and research teams to address pre-award issues.
• Provide training and guidance to investigators on pre-award processes and requirements.
• Monitor deadlines and proactively communicate risks or needed actions to stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement of pre-award workflows, templates, and tools.
