Civil Project Engineer

Blackfield Associates are currently partnered with a global pharmaceutical manufacturer to support their search for a Civil Project Engineer to join their project based in Indiana on an initial 12-month contract.

• Manage and oversee civil and architectural construction activities for a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
• Supervise construction of structural, exterior, and architectural components, ensuring compliance with building codes and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain on-site presence four days per week to monitor progress, resolve issues, and confirm work is executed per approved plans.
• Review and provide feedback on change orders to ensure technical necessity, cost effectiveness, and alignment with project objectives.
• Act as the owner’s representative by reviewing plans and specifications, monitoring contractor performance, and ensuring adherence to contract requirements.
• Conduct routine site inspections, attend progress meetings, and coordinate issue resolution across internal and external project teams.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality expectations, and project documentation requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
• Sufficient experience in construction or project management.
• Strong understanding of civil construction processes, building codes, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Proficiency in project management tools and documentation practices.
