We are seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to lead on-site construction operations and ensure successful delivery of projects. Industry is pharma / life science / industrial construction. Experience outside those industries will still be considered.

The Superintendent is responsible for coordinating all field activities, maintaining schedules, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring the highest quality of workmanship. This role partners closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Foremen, and field crews to meet project goals—on time, within budget, and in full compliance with design and contract requirements.

Main Responsibilities
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage materials, equipment, and inspections to support the construction schedule.
  • Supervise and direct subcontractors and field crews to maintain smooth workflow and timely progress.
  • Oversee daily on-site operations from preconstruction through project completion.
  • Collaborate with the project management team to monitor budgets, labor productivity, and material usage.
  • Develop and manage project logistics plans and temporary facilities.
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and product data to guide construction execution.
  • Evaluate project documents for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant jobsite by implementing and enforcing company and regulatory safety policies.
  • Generate and track RFIs to clarify discrepancies or missing information in project documentation.
  • Review and approve submittals to ensure compliance with specifications, code requirements, and manufacturer standards.
  • Support and maintain the company's quality assurance and quality control programs.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and performance feedback to field personnel.
  • Ensure all foremen and trade leads have the necessary information, tools, and materials to perform their work efficiently.
  • Participate in business development efforts, including project pursuit, bidding, and proposal preparation when needed.
  • Manage project safety programs and confirm all personnel have adequate training and protective resources.
  • Lead preconstruction planning sessions and subcontractor coordination meetings.
  • Promote strong working relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Create and maintain project schedules, including master and three-week look-ahead schedules, with weekly updates.
  • Oversee site logistics, material deliveries, and equipment movement to maintain a clean and organized project site.
  • Contribute to process improvement and company development through feedback and collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Experience can substitute.
  • 5+ years of construction experience in either pharma, industrial, or commercial markets.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction methods, scheduling, safety practices, and quality management.
  • Strong ability to lead and coordinate diverse field teams and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, scheduling software (e.g., MS Project), and project management platforms.
