Job Summary of Project Engineer:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent in overseeing construction projects, which would include contract management, change order preparation, project schedule updating, vendor/supplier management, quantity tracking, production analysis, progress billing quantities/construction units for invoice preparation, resource allocation and coordination, estimating, and material pricing/project buyout.

Summary of Project Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Manage project takeoffs and documentation
  • Prepare project proposals
  • Obtain quotes from suppliers
  • Develop strong relationships with customers, vendors, subcontractors, quality control personnel, operations, and management staff
  • Use exceptional organizational skills for effective project management
  • Leverage interpersonal and communication skills for successful task completion
Required

Skills and Abilities

of Project Engineer:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (particularly Excel).
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and attention to detail.
  • Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to new challenges.
  • Must be willing and able to travel or relocate as necessary for projects.
Required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, which may include Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Management, or the equivalent experience in the construction industry.
  • 0–3 years' experience of Project Engineering
  • Experience with various types of heavy civil or geotechnical work including, but not limited to, mass concrete, post‑tensioning, dams, drilling, soil nails, caissons, tie backs, shotcrete, slurry walls is preferred.
Safety Sensitive Position:

This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, around high voltage, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position will be subject to more stringent drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a federal contractor.
