Location: Manheim

The Senior Estimator is responsible for leading the preparation of competitive and negotiated bids for large commercial construction projects, often exceeding $10 million.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify scope, trades, and bidding requirements.
  • Solicit, receive, and analyze subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring thorough coverage and competitive pricing.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits to evaluate existing conditions and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and clients to clarify design intent and resolve bid-related questions through RFIs.
  • Prepare complete cost estimates, proposals, and supporting documentation for submission.
  • Lead the estimating effort when multiple estimators are assigned to a project.
  • Conduct handoff meetings with project management upon award.
  • Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners to expand the company’s network.
  • Mentor junior estimators and contribute to team skill development.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of commercial construction estimating experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of building systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Proven experience with large-scale projects within the hotel or multifamily sector ($10M+).
  • Proficiency with estimating and takeoff software, such as Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or Smart Bid.
  • Strong ability to read blueprints, analyze data, and communicate effectively with clients and peers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred; field experience a plus.
  • Full-time, in-office position with occasional travel for site visits and pre-bid meetings.
  • Requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
