Senior Construction Estimator – Saxonburg, PA

Day in the LifeEvery day, you will review take‑offs, evaluate work estimates, and ensure risks are understood. You will oversee and direct assigned estimators and junior estimators, collaborate with operational staff on construction productions, review specifications and special provisions, and validate items’ pricing to keep costs accurate and competitive. You will also visit pre‑bid job sites, collect estimation data, and manage additional tasks as they arise while maintaining safety and flexibility.
Qualifications- 10+ years of experience as an estimator in hard‑bid and unit‑priced work in a DOT or federal contract setting
- Bachelor’s degree in business, civil engineering, construction management, or related field
- Proficiency with the HCSS Heavy Bid estimating system
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Ability to prioritize estimating tasks and workflow to meet review schedules and bid dates
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand project plans, specifications, and scope of work
- Experience with scheduling software is a plus
Must be detail‑oriented, have exceptional time‑management skills, be flexible and efficient in a fast‑paced environment, meet deadlines, work independently and as part of a team, and communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
SafetyThis is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work on project sites, including federal projects. The role may involve working at heights, in confined spaces, near heavy equipment, and during nights or weekends as needed. The position will be subject to stringent drug testing and other compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
Work ScheduleMonday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Some flexibility is required for pre‑bid site visits.
