Skilled Construction and Site Prep Laborer

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Preparation and Execution:
    Execute manual labor tasks across various outdoor worksites, including trenching, earthwork, and managing natural site environments to ensure project milestones are met on schedule.
  • Tool and Equipment Operation:
    Safely and effectively operate a wide variety of hand tools, specialized power tools, and light construction equipment.
  • Logistics and Material Handling:
    Load and unload work trucks, managing material handling and secure storage to streamline field operations.
  • Site Maintenance and Safety:
    Maintain a clean, secure job site daily by retrieving all tools and equipment to eliminate potential hazards. Perform necessary light maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure peak operating condition.
  • Team

    Collaboration:

    Collaborate closely with the Site Foreman and crew members, following detailed technical field instructions to maintain high jobsite productivity.
  • Proactive Hazard Reporting:
    Identify and report safety concerns or equipment issues immediately to leadership to maintain a safe work environment for the entire crew.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)

Required

  • Physical Capabilities:
    Proven capability to perform rigorous physical manual labor safely, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
  • Environmental Endurance:
    Absolute willingness to work outdoors in varying and adverse weather conditions and rugged field environments.
  • Driver License:
    Valid state driver license strictly required prior to the start of employment.
  • Reliability:
    Demonstrated dependability with the ability to strictly adhere to attendance and mandatory overtime schedules.
  • Communication

    Skills:

    Effective oral and written communication skills to follow technical field instructions and transmit site updates accurately.

Preferred

  • Industry

    Experience:

    1 plus years of experience in construction, commercial landscaping, civil earthwork, or a related heavy field environment.
  • Safety Knowledge:
    Basic knowledge of first aid protocols and standard safety precautions specifically for heavy civil or highway construction.
  • Equipment Mastery:
    Previous hands on experience safely operating specialized power tools and light construction machinery.
  • Education:

    High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
