The Product and Marketing Technical Writer will be responsible to create technical sales tools and collateral necessary to support commercialization and value selling of our preferred products and new product launches as part of the gatekeeper process. This person will collect the preferred product and new launch product technical information, specification data and market intelligence. The incumbent will work with product marketing leaders to develop value propositions for the selected products across both the Auto OEM & Industrial Coatings businesses.

They will work cross functionally to generate technical information, value selling features/benefits and complete the writing assignments to create content for commercial tools. They will work directly with the TPMs in the region to ensure the collateral meets the requirements to drive customer growth.

The technical writer will also be responsible for defining the global collateral plan/roadmap based on business priorities, market demand, competitive data, align resources needed through the gatekeeper process to generate the plan as part of the and to ensure compliance with regulatory, legal and product stewardship requirements. The technical writer will also:

• Work directly with Marcomm on template creation, imagery, iconography and publishing of the tools to the appropriate content delivery channel using PPG brand standards.

• Be assigned special projects to create materials in support of a product launch or to address a customer need or competitive threat.

• Work with the PM process manager in each region to establish a process to maintain and update existing collateral.

• Work with Marcomm to compile existing collateral for sales enablement tools and systems (Focus, Clientlink, PPO etc.) and publish them to the appropriate channel(s) including the DAM, Clientlink and web properties.

• Coordinate with regional product management leads to adapt content from USCA to suit regional needs

• Manage necessary translation work utilizing approved translation service
Level III : 5-7 years of experience.
-Collaborate with internal teams to develop, plan, write and edit content for internal (intranet, newsletters, video scrips, memos, PPT, talking points, etc.) and external channels (website)
-Research, conduct interviews and write content.
-Match the tone, brand voice, brand guidelines and adapt writing style for a variety of outlets
-Copyedit and proofread for grammar, typos, AP style, and brand's editorial standards.
-Fact-check content and ensure content complies with legal guidance

Schedule:

Will start with PT hours typically 10-20/weeks. May be opportunity to move to FT and conversion for the right fit.
