Part‑Time Instrumental Ensemble Instructor (Jazz Ensemble/Concert Band)

The Division of Arts and Humanities at Penn State Abington is seeking a part‑time instructor for its instrumental ensembles beginning August 2026. This is a one‑semester, non‑tenure‑track appointment with the possibility of reappointment.

• Direct one or two instrumental ensembles per semester (MUSIC 82 – Concert Band; MUSIC 84/421 – Jazz Ensemble/Jazz Combo).
• Be available to teach on campus on weekday evenings, 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m.
• MUSIC 82 meets on Mondays; MUSIC 84/421 meets on Wednesdays.
• Select appropriate repertoire to be performed at an on‑campus recital each semester.
• Be available for additional public/campus performance opportunities during the semester.
• Teach private lessons in their instrument(s) of expertise on a voluntary basis.

• MFA preferred; MA in a relevant field required (equivalent professional experience or training will be considered).
• Experience teaching at the college level highly desirable.
