Job Description:
Position Overview: The Athletics department at Bryn Mawr College invites applicants for a temporary part-time appointment, supporting the College's 12 intercollegiate sports through generating creative video/digital content, media relations, press releases, website and other print and electronic media. This position requires night and weekend work. This position reports to the Athletic Director.
Temporary Appointment Duration, Schedule, and Compensation: Appointment to begin as soon as possible and conclude September 28, 2026. The position has an anticipated schedule of 20 hours per week, with nights and evening work expected due to the nature of competition schedules. Compensation: $23.00 per hour.
Characteristic Responsibilities:
Promotion of Intercollegiate Athletic Teams
- Social media coverage of athletic teams and events, including creation of promotional videos and online profiles of teams, scholar-athletes, and alumnae.
- Produce creative content for the department including event schedule posters, promotional items, and recruiting materials.
- Assist Athletic Communications Director with content for and social media platforms.
- Train and supervise game-day student workers for home contests, to support the event, the scorer's table, and livestream videography.
- Provide on-site gameday support to the Athletics Communications Director for home contests. In-game responsibilities may include photography and video of the game, live social media coverage and contest statistics .
- Write and distribute post-contest recaps through various media and social media outlets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Sports Management, Marketing, English, or other related field.
- Experience writing game stories and athlete profiles.
- Experience with NCAA Live Stats and other statistical programs.
- Knowledge of Sidearm preferred.
- Experience with graphic design and social media.
- Background as a collegiate athlete preferred.
- Successful completion of satisfactory background checks.
