Church: First Presbyterian Church of Ambler (FPC Ambler)
Reports To: Worship and Arts Director
Hours: 8-12 hours per week (Part-Time)
Salary Range: $19,000 - $22,000 based on experience
Position SummaryFirst Presbyterian Church of Ambler is seeking a passionate and skilled Contemporary Worship Leader to join our ministry team. The ideal candidate is a gifted musician and spiritual leader who will guide our worship team in creating authentic, engaging, and Christ-centered worship experiences. This role involves collaboration, musical direction, and the shepherding of both paid and volunteer musicians.
Key Responsibilities- Worship Leadership:
Lead the congregation in contemporary worship during Sunday services (approximately 1.5 hours weekly). - Team
Collaboration:
Partner with the Worship and Arts Director to plan and execute services that align with the church’s vision and sermon themes. - Rehearsal Management:
Lead weekly mid‑week rehearsals, providing musical direction, vocal/instrumental coaching, and spiritual encouragement to the band. - Team Development:
Recruit, mentor, and cultivate a team of volunteer and paid musicians. Foster a welcoming and collaborative environment for all team members. - Administrative Oversight:
Select songs in coordination with the Worship and Arts Director, manage rehearsal schedules, and ensure all musical charts or resources are prepared for the team.
- Faith & Character: A committed Christian who views music as a ministry and demonstrates a lifestyle of integrity and spiritual maturity.
- Musical Proficiency:
Strong vocal and/or instrumental ability (guitar or piano/keys preferred). Ability to lead a band effectively while engaging the congregation. - Proficient in Planning Center, along with comparable tools including Song Select, Prime and Loop Community.
- Leadership:
Experience leading ensembles or bands; ability to provide constructive, grace‑filled feedback to musicians. - Collaborative Spirit: A team player who communicates clearly and works effectively under the guidance of the Worship and Arts Director.
- Educational/
Experience:
Prior experience in church worship ministry is highly preferred.
