Wayne Memorial Community Health Centers is seeking a Sterilization Tech to join the team at our Together for Health Dental Honesdale office. The role performs duties involving the decontamination, cleaning, preparing, sterilizing procedures. Coordinates the clinical supplies and equipment maintenance.

Job Responsibilities- Understands and follows basic decontamination procedures
- Understands and follows directions in cleaning all dental instruments including handpieces
- Understands and follows directions in using the ultrasonic so that all instruments are clean of debris.
- Preps and packages instruments and other equipment accurately
- Understands and follows directions in use of autoclaves and other sterilizers
- Use appropriate technique in handling sterile items.
- Understands and follows directions for accurate testing and documentation of sterilizer performance, labeling of sterilized items
- Understands and follows procedure for equipment malfunction documentation and follow-up
- Keeps work areas in good order
- Checks for safety and proper functioning of all instruments and other equipment
- Prepare patients for treatment and prepare tray setups for dental procedures. Clean and prepare operatory for new patient. Sterilize, disinfect instruments and equipment.
- Monitor and order dental supplies.
- Submit supply orders with the proper purchase number.
- Coordinate patient scheduling with the Administrative Secretary and provide office coverage of phones, computer (scheduling and billing) as necessary.
- Clean, maintain, monitor and schedule dental equipment maintenance when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with dental regulations, hospital policy and procedure and OSHA requirements.
- Work with clinical staff to ensure that quality patient care and services are provided.
- Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current CPR certification
- Ability to follow written or verbal instructions effectively
- Ability to work as a team player
- Self‑motivated and organized
