Opportunity Overview
Penn Medicine at Home is seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Hospice Medical Director to lead our respected hospice programs. This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a dynamic physician leader to help craft the future of hospice care within the broader Penn Medicine network.
The Hospice Medical Director has overall responsibility for medical direction of the Hospice patients’ care, and will partner closely with hospital and health system leadership to align departmental goals with Penn Medicine’s mission and strategic priorities. The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical experience, strategic insight, and a passion for fostering collaboration and clinical excellence.
The Role
As the clinical and administrative leader for hospice services, the Medical Director will have the following accountabilities:

Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited residency in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or PM&R, along with appropriate Board Certification
- Candidates must have or be eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Pennsylvania and New Jersey
- Completion of a Hospice & Palliative Care fellowship preferred
- Hospice Medical Director certification preferred
- Robust clinical experience in the home and inpatient Hospice setting
- Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex healthcare organization
- Proven ability to build teams, inspire collaboration, and achieve measurable quality and operational outcomes
