Psychiatrist Position

We are seeking a part-time Psychiatrist to support our Extended Acute Care (EAC) Program in Nazareth, PA.

This is a flexible part-time position of 6 onsite hours per week.

Earn up to $200/hr.

The goal of the Extended Acute Care Program (EAC) is to provide a safe, therapeutic, and holistic residential environment where individuals can obtain intensive short-term, treatment and support in order to stabilize acute mental health symptoms, pursue recovery goals and enhance skills for maintaining wellness in the community.

Position Details:

The Psychiatrist serves as the clinical leader of psychiatric treatment, directing and coordinating care as an integral member of the interdisciplinary treatment team. The Psychiatrist actively participates in the recovery planning process, collaborating with nursing, and other team members to develop individualized treatment plans that promote recovery, stability, and successful transition to a less restrictive level of care.

Duties include:

  • Psychiatric oversight and medication management for individuals receiving residential services.
  • Conducting psychiatric evaluations, prescribing and monitoring medications
  • Providing ongoing psychiatric treatment in accordance with regulatory requirements (including weekly 30min appointments)
  • Responding to psychiatric crises as needed including on-call coverage.
  • Leading psychiatric treatment planning and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, person-centered care.
  • Consulting with nursing staff regarding medication concerns, clinical changes, and treatment recommendations.
  • Attending weekly interdisciplinary treatment team meeting held every Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. contributing psychiatric expertise to case reviews, treatment planning, and care coordination.

Requirements:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Adult Psychiatry, with a current license to practice in Pennsylvania.
  • Experience treating adults with serious mental illness in residential, inpatient, or community behavioral health settings preferred.
