Overview

Special Education Assistant - Learning Support — Full-time position at Bridge Valley Elementary School for the 2025/2026 School Year.

Hours:

8:15AM-3:30PM, Full-time/10-month. Compensation: $18.52 p/hr. AVAILABLE: 2025/2026 School Year.

• Perform a wide variety of duties in support of student(s) individualized education programs in both special (Learning) and regular education settings as directed and supervised by a professional staff member.
• Must work as a team member and exercise good judgment, prioritize tasks and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Candidates must have patience and enjoy working with children. All other duties as assigned.
• Utilization of crisis prevention techniques/strategies (including possible restraint as a last resort) with students who require such in their IEP. Training will be provided via CBSD.

• Minimum 2 years college course work or Associate Degree preferred. High School Diploma/Transcripts or GED equivalent required at time of hire (the minimum).
• Must work as a team member, exercise good judgment, prioritize tasks, effectively communicate with both students and adults and be a positive role model for students.

• Ability to work in a school setting for extended periods, including but not limited to sitting, standing, bending, reaching, walking, talking, hearing, climbing stairs, and lifting to 20 lbs.
• Some assignments may require lifting in excess of 50 lbs. while assisting students with specific personal care needs, or restraint.
