Description:
The School District of Springfield Township, located in Montgomery County, PA serves approximately 2500 students in 4 schools. Springfield Township High School serves students in grades 9-12 with a enrollment of approximately 760 students. The district is now seeking candidates to fill the opening for the Principal of Springfield Township High School. The High School Principal serves as the chief instructional and administrative leader of the high school.
The principal is responsible for providing visionary leadership that supports a safe, effective educational environment, promotes academic excellence, oversees daily operations, and ensures compliance with Pennsylvania state law, district policies, and educational best practices.
Key Responsibilities include:
* Provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instructional programs.
* Promote a culture of high expectations and continuous improvement for staff and students.
* Monitor student performance data and use results to guide instructional decision-making and school improvement planning.
* Oversee daily school operations, including scheduling, safety protocols, and facility use.
* Manage school budgets, allocate resources responsibly, and prepare financial requests aligned with district goals.
* Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements.
* Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate faculty and staff in accordance with district policies.
* Facilitate professional learning opportunities and support teacher growth.
* Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
* Establish and enforce a consistent student discipline plan that maintains a safe and positive learning environment.
* Oversee attendance monitoring and appropriate student support services.
* Resolve student-related issues and ensure equitable treatment for all learners.
* Actively engage parents, guardians, and community stakeholders in school activities and decision-making.
* Communicate regularly with families about academic progress, school policies, and events.
* Represent the school at community events, board meetings, and public forums.
* Prepare and submit required reports, records, and documentation for district and state compliance.
* Keep the superintendent informed about significant issues, opportunities, and challenges within the school.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have:
* Master's or Doctoral degree in educational leadership or related field
* Active and valid PA Principal K-12 certification
* Successful classroom experience
* Demonstrated experience in school leadership and instructional management as a Principal preferred (Assistant Principal will be considered)
* Teaching and/or leadership experience at the secondary level preferred
* Strong skills in budget management, data-driven decision-making and stakeholder engagement
