Job Summary
Kutztown University of Pennsylvania enrolls approximately 7,500 students across its graduate and undergraduate programs. Located in a charming rural setting in Kutztown, Pennsylvania, the University is just a 20‑minute drive from the metropolitan areas of Allentown/Bethlehem and Reading, and about an hour from the Philadelphia metropolitan area. The University seeks to hire employees with experience working with diverse populations. The Department of Art and Design invites applications for multiple part‑time temporary faculty positions within our Communication Design program (BFA) for Fall 2026 and/or Spring 2027.
Candidates should demonstrate mastery in their chosen design discipline and be prepared to integrate industry‑standard workflows into their teaching.
To teach courses in the Communication Design program, including Digital Foundations, Typography, and Print Media Production, in person (or hybrid/online if required). The faculty member will produce high‑quality typography and design, demonstrating an exceptional understanding of design principles, and, if the course is delivered online or hybrid, will successfully complete the Teaching Online Certification Course offered through Kutztown University.
Minimum Qualifications- MA or MFA in Design, or a related design field, earned by the beginning of the semester.
- One year of college‑level teaching experience or equivalent professional experience in the design field.
- Successful interview and demonstration of relevant abilities.
Extensive professional industry and client‑interaction knowledge.
