POSITION GOAL:
Plan instruction and/or adaptation of the education program to enable students to benefit from educational experiences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Build trust and confidence with students.

Plan curriculum, lessons, and special education programs and instruction.

Maintain the physical environment of the classroom for organization and presentation purposes.

Monitor student progress in regular and special education classes.

Instruct individuals and groups based on the IEP goals and objectives.

Assist with the modification of curriculum.

Maintain on-going contact with parents.

Evaluate student progress based on work output and observation, determines goals, objectives

and directions.

Prepare appropriate paper work, including report cards, educational records, IEP forms, and

classroom observation records.

Participate in periodic special education committee meetings.

Administer educational evaluation instruments.

Supervise students and classroom and child specific aides.

QUALIFICATIONS
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill, and /or ability necessary.

Bachelor's Degree.

Pennsylvania Special Education Teaching Certification.

Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents.

Ability to express self clearly and concisely in oral and written communications; and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.

Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; to plan and implement lessons based on curriculum objectives and the needs and abilities of students.

Well organized with good time management skills.

Computer literate and competent with word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

Submission of PA School Personnel Health form or on file.

Current Act 34, Act 151 and Act 114 clearances or on file.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Compensation for these temporary, part-time positions is set at the individual's hourly rate.

There is no additional compensation or fringe benefits for this activity
