7hr 20 min work day (inclusive of 30 minute, duty-free lunch) ; 190 days/year, 5 days/week

Overview:
The most important function of the teacher is to direct pupil growth through educational experiences with an awareness of the child and his/her limitations. It is the responsibility of the teacher to utilize approved curricular goals as a basis for planning and implementing appropriate instructional activities with students. Our teachers create a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, while establishing effective rapport with students, as well as motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed as a foundation to become lifelong learners.
This position is also responsible for establishing a positive relationships with parents, staff, and the community.
What You'll Do:
- Design instruction aligned to curriculum through ongoing curricular development; uses student data and MTSS to plan responsive, differentiated learning experiences.
- Establish a safe, respectful learning environment with clear expectations, restorative practices, and effective classroom management that promote independence and belonging.
- Implement high-impact instructional strategies, communicates clear objectives, and engages students in meaningful learning that builds independence and critical thinking.
- Use ongoing assessment to monitor student progress, provide feedback, and adjust instruction within an MTSS framework.
- Engage in continuous professional learning and growth, demonstrating reflection, adaptability, and curiosity.
- Collaborate with families, colleagues, and specialists to support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development.
- Proper active and valid certification from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for assignment
- Classroom experience is desirable
- In addition to certification credentials, teachers should have poise, and interest in children, a sense of responsibility, the ability to work with others, and the ability to adapt to any reasonable pattern of behavior accepted by the community for professional persons
