Position Overview

The Bellefonte Area School District is seeking a Substitute Teacher to provide instructional support and classroom leadership across grade levels and subject areas. This role is essential to maintaining continuity of learning and fostering a positive educational environment in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong classroom management skills, adaptability to diverse student needs, and a commitment to delivering engaging, standards-based instruction.
Key Responsibilities

The Substitute Teacher will:

• Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with the provided lesson plan and district policy
• Lead instruction in the classroom by conducting the lesson plans as provided
• Instruct students in a variety of classroom courses/topics
• Motivate students to learn and encourage classroom participation
• Create a safe learning environment that is conducive to productive learning and developmentally appropriate
• Adapt to various learning styles of students
• For long-term assignments, you may be expected to develop lesson plans and administer/grade assessments

Education Requirements

Minimum: Bachelor's degree in any area is required. A degree in education is NOT required.
