Tutors perform 4-10 weekly hours which will include tasks like tutoring in Speaking and Presentation skills as well as staffing tabling events, running workshops, and performing class visits.

Position Summary Information

Job Description Summary:

* Run tutoring sessions for public speakers. Session types (approx. 60-minutes in length, focused on a single area or combination, depending on individual needs)

* Technologies: competency with WCOnline tutor scheduling platform
Topics covered during a session may include: audience analysis, eye contact, vocal projection, managing speaking anxiety, critiquing visual aids, etc.Attending monthly tutor training events
presenting workshops and class visitsstaffing resource fair tables (three events annually: august, february, april)

Requirements:

Must be a COM majorMust have a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or above
Provide contact information of at least one Villanova faculty member who can provide an endorsementMust have completed Public Speaking class by start date for the semester

Additional Information:

Past peer mentoring or peer tutoring experience prefered but not required.

Physical Demands Summary:

Being physically on campus to run sessions out of Falvey Library.

Wage Rate:
$11.25/hour
