The Math Interventionist and Instructional Coach provides leadership to strengthen mathematics achievement through targeted student interventions and instructional support for staff. This dual-role position provides direct services to students who require supplemental mathematics support while also facilitating high-quality mathematics instruction through coaching, modeling, professional learning, and collaborative planning.

Essential Functions

Essential Responsibilities - Student Intervention
  • Provide Tier II and Tier III mathematics interventions to individual students and small groups using evidence-based instructional practices aligned to Pennsylvania Academic Standards.
  • Assist in identifying students for intervention through universal screening, diagnostic assessment, progress monitoring, teacher referral, and data analysis.
  • Develop and implement targeted intervention plans to address identified skill deficits and support grade-level proficiency.
  • Maintain intervention documentation and monitor student progress through established MTSS/RTII processes.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention strategies with core instruction and ensure continuity of learning.
  • Participate in problem-solving teams, data meetings, child study processes, and MTSS/RTII discussions.
  • Essential Responsibilities - Instructional Coaching and Facilitation
  • Serve as a mathematics instructional resource to elementary teachers and grade-level teams.
  • Provide job-embedded instructional coaching through modeling, co-planning, co-teaching, observation, and reflective feedback.
  • Facilitate professional learning opportunities focused on mathematics instruction, differentiated practices, assessment, and student engagement.
  • Support implementation of district mathematics curriculum, instructional resources, and initiatives with fidelity.
  • Assist teachers in analyzing student performance data to inform instructional decisions and improve student outcomes.
  • Promote consistent implementation of best instructional practices across grade levels.
  • Professional Responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with district policy and applicable laws.
  • Participate in district and building committees related to curriculum, instruction, assessment, and school improvement.
  • Engage in continuous professional growth, including participation in Act 48 professional learning requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, administrators, and families regarding student progress and instructional supports.
