Position Purpose:
The principal serves as the school's primary instructional leader, responsible for cultivating a culture and climate that promote high expectations, continuous learning, and a deep sense of belonging for students, staff, and families. The principal provides leadership for the supervision, support, and development of all professional and support staff, ensuring that instructional practices, student supports, and school operations are aligned with the District's vision, policies, and strategic priorities.

Within the framework established by the School Board and the Superintendent, the principal ensures faithful implementation of the District's instructional program, policies, and procedures while establishing building-level systems that advance instructional excellence, student achievement, and staff growth. The principal fosters an environment of trust, collaboration, and shared responsibility, engaging educators, students, families, and community partners in ongoing dialogue and problem-solving to strengthen teaching and learning.

The principal leads the school's continuous improvement efforts by facilitating collaborative structures, supporting data-informed decision making, and developing leadership capacity among staff. Through distributed leadership and meaningful stakeholder engagement, the principal builds coherence across academic, social, and emotional supports, creating a learning community where every student and adult is empowered to succeed.

Instructional Leadership:

Lead Teaching & Learning: Establish and sustain a coherent instructional vision aligned to District priorities, ensuring rigorous, standards-based instruction and high expectations for all learners. (PIL Domain 1: Strategic/Cultural Leadership)

Develop Educators: Supervise, coach, and evaluate staff using the Danielson Framework; provide timely, actionable feedback and targeted professional learning to strengthen instructional practice. (PIL Domain 3: Professional Growth & Development)

Use data for Continuous Improvement: Guide collaborative teams in analyzing student performance data to inform instruction, interventions, and school improvement planning. (PIL Domain 2: Systems Leadership)

Cultivate a Positive Learning Climate: Build a culture of trust, belonging, and shared responsibility that supports academic excellence and social-emotional growth. (PIL Domain

Ensure Instructional Coherence: Align curriculum, assessment, and instructional practices to District goals and state standards across all grade levels and content areas. (PIL Domains 1 &

Implement a High-Quality Evaluation System: Ensure consistent, fair, and rigorous implementation of the Danielson Framework and state-mandated evaluation processes to improve instructional practice and student outcomes.
