Location: Oxford
Penn's Grove Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Middle School Science Teacher for the academic year. The ideal candidate will inspire students to explore the wonders of science while fostering a love for learning and critical thinking. This full-time position requires a creative and engaging educator who can effectively communicate scientific concepts and promote hands‑on learning experiences.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum goals.
- Create a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Foster a passion for science through hands‑on experiments, projects, and real‑world applications.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the science curriculum and participate in interdisciplinary projects.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and advancements in science education.
- Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
- Valid teaching PA certification for middle school science/secondary science.
- Previous teaching experience at the middle school level is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of middle school science curriculum and state educational standards.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment.
- Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction.
- Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive classroom environment.
- Passion for science and a desire to inspire students to explore the subject further.
