Middle​/High School Performing Arts Teacher

New employees are expected to attend New Teacher Orientation on August 13th and August 14th, as well as the week of staff professional development beginning August 17th. The first day of school for students is August 24, 2026.

School Lane Charter School is an inclusion and inquiry-based internationally-minded IB school looking to hire a passionate and dynamic Performing Arts Teacher to inspire middle and high school students through engaging instruction in theater, performance, music, and related performing arts disciplines. The successful candidate will foster creativity, collaboration, confidence, and artistic expression while developing students' performance skills and appreciation for the arts.

An SLCS teacher is responsible for planning, instruction, activities and assessments based on the SLCS curriculum. Teachers are tasked with creating an integrated instructional program that supports an inclusion-based learning approach fostering a safe environment that respects academic and cultural diversity. Additionally, teachers are expected to work together with other teaching and support professionals in a collaborative manner to provide teaching strategies and methods that address a wide range of learning styles, individual needs, interests, abilities, and maturity levels of students.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Music, Performing Arts, Theatre or related field
• Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification in Music K-12 or Theatre Endorsement
• Prior experience with International Baccalaureate (IB) MYP and/or DP programs a plus
• Background in performing arts disciplines
• Understanding and commitment to inclusive learning
• Strong researching, planning, and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with MS Office and Google
