Location: Clarks Summit

Make a difference in students' lives by supporting their emotional and social growth in a vibrant elementary school environment! This full-time contract position as a School Social Worker offers the opportunity to build trusted relationships with K-4 students, providing essential emotional and behavioral support. Based near Scranton, PA, you'll work alongside teachers, administrators, and families to foster a safe, nurturing atmosphere where every child can thrive.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) and current state licensure required
  • Previous experience in a school or youth setting strongly preferred
  • Expertise supporting students with emotional and behavioral challenges
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with diverse groups
  • Adaptable, empathetic, and passionate about student well-being
  • Ability to start as soon as possible and commit through June 2026
Role Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct support and counseling to students in grades K-4 in emotional support classrooms
  • Develop and implement individualized strategies and interventions in collaboration with classroom staff
  • Conduct social and emotional assessments, crises intervention, and proactive support
  • Serve as a liaison between school, families, and community agencies to ensure comprehensive care
  • Facilitate small groups and classroom lessons on topics such as social skills, conflict resolution, and self-regulation
  • Participate in IEP meetings and help shape intervention plans
  • Maintain thorough documentation and case notes following professional standards
In this role, you'll receive compensation of $35-$40 per hour, with the chance to make a long-term impact throughout the NEXT two school years. This position is ideal for those committed to helping young students overcome barriers to learning and experience success.
