Job Description
Manheim Central is hiring a Head Football Coach to start with the team in the school year.
This position is responsible for the leadership, supervision, organization, and continuous improvement of the Manheim Central High School football program. This includes student‑athlete development, staff leadership, practice and game preparation, safety and compliance, academic accountability, family and community communication, and alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Manheim Central School District.
Essential Functions- Teach football fundamentals, rules, strategies, techniques, and performance principles in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- Plan, organize, and conduct purposeful practices that promote skill development, teamwork, preparation, and safety.
- Establish, communicate, model, and enforce clear expectations for student conduct and team culture.
- Establish a clear vision for the football program that aligns with Manheim Central’s mission, vision, and shared values.
- Develop short- and long‑term goals for program growth, student development, staff development, competitive preparation, and culture.
- Recruit, recommend, supervise, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaches in partnership with the Athletic Director and District administration.
- Communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with student‑athletes, families, assistant coaches, school staff, administrators, officials, opponents, media, alumni, and community members.
- Prior successful football coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level.
- Successfully completion of all onboarding paperwork, clearances, and training required by the District, PIAA, and applicable law.
- Experience working with booster clubs and fundraising.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, motivate, supervise, and develop student‑athletes.
- Knowledge of football rules, fundamentals, strategies, training methods, and safety practices.
- Ability to lead assistant coaches and organize a comprehensive football program.
- Strong communication, organization, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to legally drive and transport students as required.
