Teacher, Middle School Spanish

Waldron Mercy Academy seeks a part‑time Spanish teacher for our Middle School. The position will start on August 26, 2026. Waldron Mercy is an independent, coeducational Catholic school sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy located in Merion Station, PA (suburban Philadelphia), serving grades Preschool – 8. • Prepares Spanish curriculum for student learning
• Adapts teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs
• Plans and conducts activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question and investigate.
• Instructs students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, demonstrations and hands‑on learning.
• Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects and communicates those objectives to students.
• Prepares, administers, and grades tests and assignments in order to evaluate students’ progress.
• Meets with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine their priorities for their children and resource needs.
• Provides a variety of materials and resources for students to explore and use in learning.
• Collaborates with other teachers and administrators in the development, evaluation, and revision of curriculum and scope and sequence.
• Attends professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.

• Bachelor degree in a related field of study.
• Teaching Certification
• A minimum of three years of Spanish teaching experience at an appropriate grade level
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills with students, parents and colleagues
• Demonstrated organizational skills

• Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
• May work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time.
• Be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
• Works primarily in a traditional climate controlled office environment.
• Works intermittently in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
