Qualifications:

• Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students who are visually impaired in K-12 settings
• Strong understanding of braille, large print, and assistive technology
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage staff, students, and families
• Flexibility and adaptability in managing a diverse caseload

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments according to their IEP goals
• Conduct ongoing assessments to determine student abilities and needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service personnel, and administrators to create accessible learning environments
• Adapt instructional materials and utilize assistive technology tools for students
• Offer guidance and training for staff and family members on strategies for supporting students' development and independence
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation on student progress and services
