We are seeking to establish a pool of Special Needs Education Assistants for permanent and fixed term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies that may arise during the 2026 school year and up to the end of Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Special Needs Education Assistant, you will work closely with teachers across a range of year levels and curriculum areas, supporting the delivery of educational programmes that meet student needs and align with the college's strategic priorities. Under teacher direction, you will assist in implementing agreed programmes and strategies that promote positive learning outcomes for all students.
QualificationsSuitable applicants will ideally have experience working with high school students with special needs and in the development and delivery of supported educational programmes. Under limited direction, Education Assistants apply evidence‑based individualised programmes that improve academic engagement, organisational skills, social thinking, peer relationships and self‑regulation skills. Applicants should possess a positive attitude, the ability to anticipate and adapt to change, and show initiative and flexibility to produce the best opportunities for students.
- Eligible to work in Australia – and New Zealand – as a citizen, permanent resident, or holder of a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
- Have a valid Working With Children Check before you start.
