Position Type: Part-Time position starts in September 2026.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:15 AM – 12:15 PM (September through May). Attendance at meetings and events, including faculty meetings, is required outside regular school hours.

The West Hill School is a unique coeducational preschool for children ages 2 years 7 months to 5 years, accredited by the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools (PAIS). Founded in 1966 and situated on over two beautiful acres, West Hill was built especially for young children. We are seeking a warm, experienced, and dedicated Head Teacher to lead a preschool classroom serving children ages 2 years 7 months to 3 years. This collaborative role is in a school setting—not a daycare—and focuses on early childhood education and developmentally appropriate practices, grounded in a commitment to high standards and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Lead a nurturing, engaging classroom environment that supports the social, emotional, cognitive, and language development of young children
- Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum and activities
- Be responsible for all administrative duties that are associated with the position (ordering, lesson planning development and organization, newsletter development, etc.)
- Partner closely with the other teacher to support a class of 14 children
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Observe and assess student progress, maintaining clear and thoughtful communication with parents
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
- Experience working with young children (ages 2–3) in an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and of developmentally appropriate practices
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to create a warm, caring, supportive, engaging, and structured classroom environment

B.Ed. A degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
