Eastern University, a university of the liberal arts, sciences and professional studies located in St. Davids, Pennsylvania invites applications to teach in the Associate of Arts Prison Education Program.
The Prison Education Program offers courses at State Correctional Institution (SCI) Chester in Chester, PA. The AA Curriculum provides a broad background in general education and incorporates the University’s mission specific General Education distinctive courses. The courses provide content which is informed by the Christian faith.
We are currently looking for adjunct faculty to teach in the following disciplines:
Math, Biology, College Writing, Bible, Theology, History, and the Arts.
Applicants should possess a PhD or terminal degree in a relevant discipline, and have several years of experience teaching at the college level. Those with a Master’s degree will be considered. Prior experience teaching in a prison context is beneficial. Training and orientation are provided by the Prison Education Program.

In accordance with state laws, Act 73 of 2007, Act 153 of 2014, Act 168 (relating to the Child Protective Services Law), school employees of Eastern University who will have direct contact with children must complete the background check process prior to employment.
