Lecturer of Social Work

Location: Saint Davids

The successful candidate will teach primarily in the on campus BSW program and as needed in the fully online MSW program in the Social Work Department. The position will include teaching social work courses in areas such as HBSE, policy, research, and practice with an opportunity to develop and teach elective social work courses in an area of expertise. The BSW program is offered at our St.

David's campus.

* Teach courses assigned in a30-credit load.

* Assist in the development of course curriculum.

* Assist with coordinating placements within the internship program.

* Advise BSW students.

* Participate in the admissions and interview process for future students.

* Pursue a scholarly agenda of inquiry, presentation, and publication.

* Uphold the vision of the Social Work Department.

* Maintain compliance with CSWE accreditation standards.

* MSW from a CSWE accredited program.

* Minimum of two years of post-MSW practice experience.

* Thorough knowledge of the CSWE competencies.

The Social Work Department has five full-time faculty. The BSW program has been accredited by CSWE since 1974 and MSW program is also fully accredited by CSWE. The Social Work Department at Eastern University educates and prepares students to be competent advanced generalist (MSW) social work practitioners who are knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate representatives of God's mercy and justice in meeting common human needs with particular attention to vulnerable and oppressed populations and communities.
