Job Description

SUMMARY: To use leadership, knowledge, and skill to promote the educational development of each student. To make the school an attractive, pleasant, and productive place.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salaried position based on the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work will take place indoors in classrooms as well as in outdoor spaces.

EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE:

  • The general qualifications of a teacher in Pennsylvania.
  • Outstanding recommendations and current references.
  • Current teaching experience in related position preferred.
  • High academic standards.
  • Extra-curricular experiences and skills preferred.
  • Public School Experience (considered)
SPECIFIC POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • All conditions of employment as defined in the current negotiated contract.
  • To maintain a roster of students of their classes or programs.
  • To provide an ongoing evaluation of students.
  • To maintain a liaison with other teachers and specialists that serve district students.
  • To help keep parents informed of their children’s progress and meet with parents for conferences when requested.
  • To provide instruction to assigned students within your certified areas.
  • To coordinate activities with other teachers.
  • To provide scholastic assessment of assigned students.
  • To attend and participate in in-service programs, staff meetings, and conferences to keep informed about changes in your subject area.
  • To utilize and follow the current Multi‑Tiered System of Support (MTSS) process for students needing enrichment or remedial programs.
  • Maintain a knowledge of current Pennsylvania academic standards as related to their field.
  • Prepare and deliver lessons in their certified field of study.
  • Maintain current and accurate records of students.
  • Administer standardized testing as assigned by administration.
  • To respond to the needs (educational, health, and psychological) of each student.
  • To utilize prescribed programs in the school/district for dealing with student behavior and or needs (e.g. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), MTSS, Student Assistance Programs (SAP)).
  • To follow all safety procedures established by the school/district.
  • To monitor and supervise students during both academic and non‑academic duties or activities.
  • Maintain and complete Act 48 requirements to keep certification current.
  • To perform other duties assigned by the principal or superintendent.
