Kallah

is a 3-week Jewish learning and spirituality institute that inspires teens to explore their Jewish identities and interests in a diverse, pluralistic setting encouraging questioning and experimentation. Kallah participants gain important Judaic skills and come away feeling a deeper connection to Jewish study, Israel, and community. Kallah is expected to reach approximately 200 teens.

Compensation

Compensation is on a scale and is based on previous experience background:

Kallah Operations Director is the primary point of contact for the Perlman Camp partnership, managing key communications and ensuring the successful oversight and execution of all operational functions supporting Kallah community programs.

Key Position Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to)
  • To prepare for and actively participate, and lead in staff training, meetings, and supervisory conversations.
  • To organize, implement and document daily program set up and clean‑up of all programs and activities.
  • To create, manage and execute all camp clean ups, and daily dorm clean up and inspections.
  • To manage all walkie talkie and communication devices and systems.
  • To operate and oversee Opening and Closing camp and of inventory for Summer Experiences.
  • To create daily/weekly system for schedule for all communications and checks of Perlman Camp’s Maintenance and House Keeping crews.
  • To oversee dining hall operations at all meals including Dorm of the Day set up, clean up.
  • Meet with the Kitchen manager daily to review menu, allergies, dietary restrictions and any special meal requests.
  • To manage and communicate all guest visitations, legal documentation and training completion, and room assignments in the Adult Lodge.
  • To create and implement documented communication with the Perlman Camp community with our needs, both operationally and programmatically.
  • To ensure all maintenance and clean up needs are being met by Perlman Camp staff.
  • To assist with staff appreciation.
  • To coordinate all teens and staff travel details.
  • To create system to organize and communicate all travel details of staff and teens.
  • To oversee all transportation of Staff and Teens.
  • To work closely with the Site Director and Program Director to provide communication of what the Kallah community is experiencing on a daily/weekly basis.
Daily Expectations
  • Visibly monitor quality of facility and follow up on facility needs accordingly.
  • Document facility needs and stores them on SharePoint.
  • Attend and run daily Leadership Staff, Staff and overall meetings at Camp.
  • Be on time, and present at all camp programs and meetings.
Additional Responsibilities
  • To create, implement and evaluate system with the bus arrival and departure experiences of teens and staff.
  • To assist with and supervise programs of the Shabbat experiences.
  • To provide a self‑care plan prior to the beginning of June that promotes positive mental health and care.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, work with fingers, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions.
  • Ability to perform light work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force constant to move objects.
  • Heavy visual acuity required performing such activities as preparing and analyzing data and figures, using computers and reading.
  • To live at the site for the duration of the Kallah experience.
  • To provide documentation prior to/after the Kallah experience.
  • To work with Site Director to ensure all budgetary guidelines have been reached, documented, and adhered to through the Kallah experience.
