ESOL Facilitator
Salary Range: $59,493-$81,690
Qualifications- Coursework in bilingual education, ESOL, TESOL, multicultural education, or a related field;
Master's degree and ESL Program Specialist Certificate. - Hold a valid and current Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate.
- Satisfactory work record & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 151, & 114).
- Five (5) or more years of ESOL teaching experience.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of ELD Standards.

Under the supervision of the Executive Director and Director of ESOL and World Languages, the ESOL Facilitator will assist in the planning, coordination and ESOL program implementation at the school and district levels in conjunction with other educators, families and students. In addition, the facilitator will provide direct and indirect school-based support to ESL, classroom and content area teachers in instruction for English Learners.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provides direct, technical assistance to ESL teachers and content teachers of English Language Learners.
- Communicates and collaborates with staff, parents, students, community and advocates on issues pertaining to English Learner Students.
- Attends team and grade-group meetings to provide input on best practices for English Language Learners.
- Assist with district curriculum planning and development to include appropriate instructional strategies for ELs in content area subjects.
- Assists schools in the identification, screening, scheduling, and placement of English Learners in language and content programs.
- Collaborates with Special Ed Teachers and Facilitators to ensure that all appropriate instructional and assessment accommodations are provided for ELs with IEPs.
- Assists schools in administration of language assessments required by federal and state laws.
- Provides assistance with monitoring exited ESOL students and provides strategies to content teachers to aid in the exit transition.
- Provides professional development for ESL teachers, classroom teachers, content teachers, administrators and paraprofessionals.
- Participates in coordinating activities for parents of ELs.
- Participates in initiatives related to diversity and multiculturalism within the district.
- Responds to questions from teachers and paraprofessionals regarding English Learners.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such responsibilities as may be assigned or delegated by the Superintendent of Schools and/or his designee.
