Candidates must possess a valid Pennsylvania Special Education Instructional I or II Certificate.
The Special Education Coach provides leadership, coaching, and programmatic support to ensure the delivery of a comprehensive, high-quality continuum of special education services. This role focuses on strengthening instructional practices, supporting inclusive and specialized programming, and promoting students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth. The Special Education Coach collaborates with educators, service providers, and administrators to build staff capacity, ensure alignment with best practices and legal requirements, and support consistent, effective programming that meets the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
Further Qualifications include the following:
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience in special education.
- Extensive knowledge of and experience working with students with learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, and/or emotional/behavioral disabilities.
- Demonstrated expertise in implementing evidence-based and research-supported instructional and behavioral interventions.
- In-depth knowledge of special education processes, including compliance requirements, timelines, documentation, and case management.
- Strong understanding of data analysis and data-based decision making to support instructional planning and behavior management.
- Knowledge of curriculum content, instructional design, and lesson delivery grounded in current educational research and best practices.
- Experience using educational technology and digital tools to support instruction, data collection, and professional collaboration.
Knowledge of discipline theory, classroom management strategies, and positive behavioral supports.
