Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's degree in Education or related field, Master’s preferred. Subject matter expertise.
- Certification: Massachusetts Moderate Disabilities PreK–8 or 5–12 license required. SEI endorsement required. Training and experience in evidence-based, language-based instructional approaches preferred.
- Experience: Experience working with students with language-based learning disabilities preferred. Experience providing structured literacy instruction and multisensory intervention is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of language-based learning disabilities and their impact on academic performance.
- Knowledge of structured literacy and multisensory instructional practices.
- Ability to provide individualized and small‑group instruction to students with diverse learning needs.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction to maximize growth.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and student‑centered learning environment.
- AIM Program Instruction: Provide specialized instruction and intervention for students with language‑based learning disabilities through multisensory, language‑based small‑group intervention designed to support growth in language development.
- Individualized Education Plans: Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with Massachusetts DESE regulations and participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, and other team meetings as needed.
- Instruction: Plan, organize, and deliver effective lessons aligned with Massachusetts state standards and school curriculum, adapting lessons to meet individual student needs and learning styles.
- Student Support: Actively participate in the MTSS framework, monitoring student progress, identifying challenges, and providing appropriate interventions.
- Assessment: Monitor student performance using formative and summative assessments, maintain documentation such as progress reports, and provide timely feedback to students and parents.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that fosters engagement and academic success.
- Collaboration: Work with colleagues, administrators, and support staff in professional learning communities and school‑based committees.
- Parent and Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Professional Learning: Pursue ongoing professional development to implement innovative instructional practices and align with evolving state education policies.
- Ability to work in a classroom setting and adapt to a dynamic school environment.
- Occasional lifting of instructional materials, setting up classroom activities, and moving throughout the school building.
- Successful completion of background checks as required by Massachusetts state law and School Committee policies.
