Girard SD; ELA In Person Tutor

Job Information

Hey Tutor, in partnership with a school district in Girard, is hiring 3 English tutors to work with students from kindergarten through 8th grade. Tutors will assist Middle‑School students during and after school hours, supervising them while helping to close learning gaps arising from the past school year.

Hourly pay ranges from $22 to $26, with the exact rate determined by education and experience during the interview.

• Work with groups of students without support from a teacher or school‑site staff.
• Prepare the area to begin tutoring sessions.
• Pick up and drop off students from designated areas in the school site, if required.
• Take attendance and run lessons through the Hey Tutor dashboard when applicable.
• Document student progress with the Hey Tutor dashboard.
• Facilitate baseline and summative assessments when requested by a manager.
• Lead a group of students during the tutoring session, using curriculum and materials provided by the program.
• Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging so that students want to be present.
• Support students in making positive behavior choices.
• Engage and interact with tutoring lessons alongside the students.
• Daily clock in and out of Deputy for shifts.
• Perform any other duties that may be required by the company, your manager, and/or the school site.

• Must have completed an associate degree or higher.
• Prior tutoring experience, especially with children, is preferred.
• Comfortable tutoring Middle‑School ELA and working in a classroom setting.
• Ability to pass an in‑person FBI‑DOJ background check.
• Ready to supervise students at a school site.

Monday – Friday: 7 am to 3:30 pm (40 hours per week)
